Joy's Life CAS sparkly card

I love pretty much anything sparkly. I admit, even to the point of tacky. I do like to keep things clean and simple also though. So, when I made this card, I decided to tone down the sparkle of the paper with a lot of nice clean white space.

I used the 'thank you SNOW much' stamp from the Joy's Life Wintery Puns set. The paper, which I love because it sparkles like crazy but doesn't flake off and leave glitter everywhere, is from Reminisce. The ink is clearsnap - my favorite ink ever quite possibly: Stephanie Barnard dye ink in cornflower. The punches are Fiskars.

I always love working with my Stephanie Barnard clearsnap inks and now I found a new thing to love...Stephanie Barnard Stamps of Life!

I created this card for the hop using the friends4ever and hexagons2love sets.

--out for publication--
I used Stephanie Barnard Clearsnap dye ink in Artichoke and Chocolate and Lime.
I also used some of the new Clearsnap Chox ink in sparrow on the kraft card for a tone on tone look.

After stamping, I hand cut the hexagon trees and added them on foam tape over my hand drawn tree trunks.

thanks for looking!

Webster's Pages Christmas Card

I took up the challenge to make a Holiday Card using Webster's Pages products. I had to use some non-holiday supplies because my stash of Christmas themed Webster's products was really low. I added the stamped Tim Holtz trees with the new Clearsnap CHOX ink. The sentiment sticker was from the Girl Land line from Webster's Pages. I cut the center out and used the frame around the Skipping Stones stamped sentiment. The ribbon flower, pin, doily and netting are all from webster's pages.

This is also for the Do you stack up Christmas challenge, the simon says stamp favorite challenge (my favorite is these ribbon roses from Webster's Pages), and the cupcake craft merry christmas challenge.

Unity challenge card

On this card I used My Little shoebox papers and stickers, Unity stamps and clearsnap ink.

Unity Kit of the Month Tag

I created this tag using some Unity stamps from my Kit of the Month subscription! I used the sketch from the challenge this month also.
I love these kits because they are filled with all kinds of fun stamps that I may not have picked out for myself.  Look at that argyle background stamp that I used on the center block. That was in the August KOM. I would never have picked out something like that for myself, but I keep finding myself reaching for it!
The circular stamp is from the July kit. The feathers are from the November kit.
The papers are Jillibean soup. The inks are clearsnap.

Joy's Life Gift card tutorial

Today I am going to show you how to make a simple Christmas tree shaped gift card holder.
Here you can see where the gift card is hidden in the finished card.
First, I cut a piece of scrap paper into a 5x7 rectangle. That's the size envelope that I wanted my finished card to fit in. fold that paper in half, sketch the tree on it - using up as much space as possible, and then cut out the template.

Trace the template onto your chosen patterned paper to create the back of the card.

Then you want to cut the template into the three tiers of the tree. Trace those tiers onto your patterned paper, but be sure to extend the top edge of the bottom two tiers by about a half inch to allow for an overlap and adhesive.

Glue the top two tiers together. Glue the bottom tier to the back of the card using adhesive just on the sides and bottom to create a pocket.

Finally, add a little adhesive to the back of the top part of the tree so that it sticks to the gift card. Then have fun embellishing!

Joy's Life Christmas gift box

Joy asked us to make treat holders this week. I was stumped at first, but then remembered these adorable little 3-D houses from the winter woodland cricut cartridge. They are made to be just decorations, but I thought it would make a great treat holder if I added a bottom.

The stamp is from the Oh Christmas Puns Joy's life set and embossed with clearsnap embossing powder.

For the bottom, I just traced the square bottom of the house, made it slightly smaller and then added 'wings' around it (just made the outside about 3/4 of an inch larger and folded on the original line. I cut the corners to allow the fold and to create tabs for adhesive. Then I slipped it up inside the house.

It would probably be good to hold this from the bottom. Using cardboard for the base would make it more sturdy. Mine can only hold light candies or meringues, nothing heavy like chocolate chip cookies. You can also adhere the base to the inside of the house to keep it 'sealed'.

The papers are Fancy Pants. The punch is fiskars. The bling is Queen and Co. The twine is Divine Twine.

this is entered in the simon says stamp and show house rules challenge and the flourishes timeless tuesday anything christmas but a card and the crafty creations winter scene challenge

Joy's Life December Blog Hop

Welcome to the Joy's life holidays blog hop!
I used the 'I'll Holly Atcha Later' sentiment from the Oh Christmas Puns set. Oh how I love this stamp!! It cracks me up!
I kept the card simple to highlight the sentiment.

The paper and chipboard are Ruby Rockit. The cardstock is bazzill and the ink is clearsnap.

You should have arrived here from Kimberly's blog. If not you might want to go back to the beginning and start over so you don't miss any of the inspiration or prizes. Otherwise, you are onto June's blog!
